In Sarajevo, somun with ćevapčići is as iconic as Italian pizza or New York City’s bagels. Somun is a wood-fired traditonal bread. Pillowy and deliciously chewy, with a thin, fire-kissed crust, somun is delectable on its own. But we encourage you to rip it, dip it, eat it with spreads, or cut it in half and stuff it with your favourite sandwich ingredients.
Magaza somun is prepared in a very traditional manner, being baked on a scattering of corn polenta. Please note that due to air bubbles inside the bread, it will feel soft under the touch even when frozen below -10c.
